I’ll be the first to admit that I bleed blue… Cougar Blue.
Ok, I’m not a diehard football fan, but that’s mostly because I think football is… boring.
I know, I know there was a collective gasp of horror at that statement. Moving on.
So I may not love football, but I LOVE my alma mater.
If I had to make a list of my favorite places on the planet, BYU would make the top 5.
Granted, I lead a fairly boring life, so Target sans children might also make that list, but seriously, BYU is awesome.
I am also a pretty boring dresser.
Like I dress for function.
I spend a good portion of every day at the park, wiping snot, and crawling on my hands and knees, fancy doesn’t work for me.
Also… I have no fashion sense… so there’s that.
Between my lack of fashion sense, “mom life”, and my love of BYU, I wear a lot of BYU apparel .
Tonight I was at the store with my sweet mother, and she asked, in the way that only she can “Why do you still dress like you’re in college, you wear a lot of BYU shirts!”
Um…
Cause college was awesome? Cause we should sport our Cougar blue every day of the year? Cause fancy shirts don’t work with my life? Cause I don’t know how to dress like a grown up?
So many responses.
Oh sweet Mom. She really great.
She’s still waiting for me to dress like a grown up… it’s been 31.5 years… sadly I think this might be as good as it gets.
And…
I’m tainting the next generation.
The Princess sports her Cougar blue (with matching bows) frequently… and I may have convinced her that navy blue (ok and sometimes royal blue) are pretty much the best colors around.
And the boys have already requested new BYU gear for Christmas… Santa listen up.
In case anyone was wondering, there is no such thing as TOO much school spirit… well unless you like the U of U in which case maybe there is (just kidding!).
You live in Austin with all of us Longhorns, you know there is no such thing as too much! Enjoy it! Also, I have almost ten years on you and I still wear character shirts, have purple hair, etc. There is no grown up attire 😉
