My Child is a Hoarder

I’m 90% sure that my oldest child is a hoarder. Ok, maybe not a hoarder, maybe a scavenger is a better description. To put it nicely, this child and I have very different views on cleanliness. I went to drop something off in his room this morning and just had to stop, take a breath, and… Read More My Child is a Hoarder

Potty Training is the BEST

Potty training is the best… said no mom ever. Potty training is a battle, one that the parents lose on a daily basis. Potty training Harry Potter went just like the books said (and yes I read ALL the books in preparation for potty training Harry Potter). I had planned out potty training for months,… Read More Potty Training is the BEST

Living in the “Getting It Done”

“The biggest mistake I made is the one that most of us make while doing this (raising children). I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of the three of them sitting in the grass on a… Read More Living in the “Getting It Done”

I Think I Discovered Where All Those Grey Hairs Are Coming From…

We lost our second child (AsthmaMan) at the store today. By lost I mean he was there one minute and GONE the next. See things started off innocent enough, we (ok I) decided it was a good idea to take our entire family kids clothes shopping at Old Navy (yes in retrospect this was a… Read More I Think I Discovered Where All Those Grey Hairs Are Coming From…

7:00pm Bedtime Is Nonnegotiable at My House

By 7:00pm I am done “momming” for the day. I wish I had more patience and more of an interest in parenting past that time of day, but I don’t. By 7:00pm I can’t listen to another rendition of the Phenias and Ferb theme song, break up another fight, or see anyone make a mess.… Read More 7:00pm Bedtime Is Nonnegotiable at My House

Dear Other Park Moms

Dear Other Moms at the Park Yesterday, First off, I am beyond sorry that my children screaming ruined your time at the park yesterday. I know, they were pretty much the worst. About 5 years ago I was you. I was somewhat (let’s not get ahead of ourselves) neatly dressed, pushing my one delightful child in a… Read More Dear Other Park Moms

Brotherly Love or Not So Much

My boys have a love hate relationship, they are just close enough in age to like of some the same things, but just far apart to be competitive about everything.  I grew up with brothers, I watched them fight and make up, but I don’t remember it being quite so drastic. every.single.day. My boys ask about… Read More Brotherly Love or Not So Much

Please don’t get sick AGAIN!

I have three kids 5 and under and it seems like sickness hits our house hard and often! I blame the difficulty on two things: 1. whining 2. man colds. Whining is the worst at the best of times.

Tee-Ball Rocks My World and Rules My Monday Nights and Saturdays

My three year old (AsthmaMan) started playing tee-ball this season. Since his older brother started at three and has been playing ever since (you know a whole 2.5 years) I thought this was a good idea. There were a lot of great things about this idea, but the reality was kinda awful.
