We have almost survived the first week of summer! Way to go us!! Someone asked how we were surviving and all I could think of was this:
Yesterday while I was making dinner, AsthmaMan and the Princess were attempting to play nicely with their toys. When it’s just them at home they have some time to play independently but near each other every day. They both like this. Both of them love to be with people, but they also love their own space, neither of them enjoy people in their face all the time.
Harry Potter is… the opposite.
He doesn’t love to be independent or play quietly, he has been like this since day 1 and he’s the oldest!
Ok back to the story.
So AsthmaMan and the Princess were attempting to play nicely but independently on the rug, and Harry Potter was running from the front door to the back door over and over at full speed while screaming.
At one point AsthmaMan just sat there and yelled “YOU’RE SO ANNOYING JUST STOP!”
This did nothing to stop the running or the screaming.
I am pretty sure that after 4 days, AsthmaMan and the Princess are just exhausted.
They want some time to play quietly, they’re tired of staying at the park and the pool for hours each day as we try and get Harry Potter the activity and socialization he loves, and even more than that I think they’re tired of the constant flurry of sound and activity that accompanies Harry Potter every single waking minute.
So we have some adjusting to do, it’s going to be an interesting summer!
