Happy Mother’s Day From One Mom to Another

To Women Everywhere,

Whether you have children or not today (ok tomorrow) is a day to celebrate.

We are all mothers in our own way.

As women, we each have the opportunity to lift and nurture those around us.

We have the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of those within our spheres of influence, when I think of the most important attributes of a mother these top my list.

So Happy Mother’s Day to the mamas that have stayed up all night tending the sick child, potty trained little monsters, and made more peanut butter and honey sandwiches than they wish to count.

Happy Mother’s Day to the teachers that have pushed  us to try harder, dig deeper, and become better.

Happy Mother’s Day to the aunts that have attended birthday parties, shown us the world, and are always much cooler than Mom.

Happy Mother’s Day to the next door neighbor that asks about the soccer game, brings over cookies just because, and provides much needed parenting advice.

Happy Mother’s Day to the sisters that provide a sympathetic shoulder to cry on and a listening ear.

Happy Mother’s Day to the grandmother that stands back and chuckles as she watches her own kids become parents.

Happy Mother’s Day to women everywhere!

I hope today is awesome.

I hope today is relaxing (excuse me while I go laugh hysterically), and most of all, I hope today you get a few minutes to reflect on your experience as mother and nurturer.

We all screw up (I wish there was a more poetic way to say it), but in the end we all get a little bit right too.

Whether you have 15 kids or 0 kids, we are all mothers, Happy Mother’s Day!

Being a mother is an attitude, not a biological relation.” —Robert A. Heinlein
