One of my graduate school professors used to say that we were “living the dream (or so to speak)”.
We all had a good laugh at his comment because it often related to a dream that none of us actually had. But I am almost 6 (how has it been 6 years) into living one of my dreams- motherhood. And his words have never been more relevant.
Yes this was my dream, but there are moments (often when poop is involved) that I have to step back and ask am I living the dream?
Did I know the dream involved so much poop?
So much screaming?
And so much frustration?
Don’t get me wrong, I love being a mom to three of the funniest kids out there, but there are some moments when I have to ask myself, “Did that really happen, please say that was more a product of exhaustion than reality!”.
So now we come to the next dream.
I have always wanted to be a blogger, ok let’s back up, I have wanted to be a lot of things, including an NPR correspondent, but a blogger seems like a bit more of a realistic option.
I’ve always wanted to share the hilarious moments, frustrations, and words of encouragement with other moms. I love Mommy Blogs, the good ones and the bad ones, and sometimes I think, hey I have funny stories too!
So this is my attempt to step forward into that world. I’ve been documenting our family for the last 9 years, so I think it’s time to take a small step forward.
And I’m nervous! I can’t imagine why since no one will read this, but let’s say that someday I reach 2 more moms… well that my friends will be awesome and a dream come true.
